Dr. Suess's the butter battle book: an in depth look (rhyme unintended?) and comparison to the cold war

The Butter Battle Book and The Cold war have very many similarities. Both the book and the actual war are about two ridiculous policies that two parties are trying to enforce on eachother. Seuss accuratly depicts the thought process behind each government during the cold war showing them run up to the border with the same weapons. It metaphorically portrays the arms race that went on between the United States and Soviet Russia in the 1950's. He also portrays the containment policies used by both of the countries with the wall, the line that is stopping the spread of either nation. Seuss shows that he thinks it is rediculous because they fight over a silly thing which symbolizes pollitical views. The bigger message of the book is that Seuss believes the arms race and the cold war are being fought because of some silly policy.
